June 29, 2026
If you have been following me for any length of time,
I may have some big news for shoppers who remember when Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls got crossed off the vegan list back in 2024.🥐
Something has changed and I have this emerging story on my blog now. Comment LINK and I’ll send it to you.

Some Costco finds! 🛒
The @lays taro chips are an import which is something I’ve not seen before there originally saw it posted from an account in California so I assumed it be just be regional but here they are in Florida! They were $7.79 at my store and they had the wrong sign out on them for just regular Lays classic chips.
Haven’t seen @stellar_snacks single serve packs before except for flying one time when they were offered so perhaps these are tho snack sized versions.
Also spotted a @goodpop electrolyte pop and @eathaks farmers market veggies in the frozen section.
Not every Costco offers the same things so best to check their app or @instacart to hopefully find them near you.

It’s back!!!🍦 The Whole Foods Market annual 50% off ice cream and frozen desserts sale is running now through July 7th. Prime members save 50% and non-Prime 44%.
That means a lot of great deals to be had so could be time to stock up or try a flavor you’ve had your eye on but the price was making you have a melt-down. 🥵

BREAKING CHEWS🚨 If you’ve been following a while, you’ll remember that I originally reported back in late 2024 that Pillsbury had added animal-derived l-cysteine hydrochloride to their formula for crescent rolls, sheets and some other products, making them no longer suitable for vegans, but now it seems something has changed.
Their limited edition seasonal packaging (with fireworks) for their original crescent rolls seems to no longer contain the ingredient in question. Why? Another good question. I’ve reached out to them and they’ve escalated my request to their product team to see if this is just for this limited edition run or an about face and change to their recipe for the entire line. I will say I looked at other items in store and online and Kroger had the regular original rolls with standard packaging without the l-cysteine in their app so that gives me hope that this is a permanent change. I also feel it would be strange to eliminate it just for this small limited run but stranger things have happened.
For now you can buy these and may possibly find regular packaged ones without the l-cysteine but I will update as I find out more and hopefully get confirmation either way from the brand. On a side note, Pillsbury confirmed years ago that their mono and diglycerides are vegetable based.
Boom, vegan hot dogs in a blanket are back on the menu for Fourth of July. 💥🌭

NEW sweet chili black-eyed peas tempeh chips at Trader Joe’s! 🌶️
If you’ve never had a tempeh chip, I think you’re in for a treat. They’re one of my favorite snacks and they’re hard to describe but they’re light yet slightly nutty and satisfying with a great crunch. These had a good kick to them but not too spicy for me and I’m a lightweight when it comes to spice. 🔥
Are you “tempehnted” to try them out? 😝
