New Beyond Steak Filets have been spotted in freezers at HEB in Texas, priced at $9.99 for a two-filet, 8.9 oz box. They’re finally making their way to retail after only being available to foodservice until now.

Beyond debuted the Steak Filet at Natural Products Expo West in early 2025, then rolled it out to restaurants like BOA Steakhouse, Veggie Grill by Next Level, and Ladybird in NYC last summer. In May 2026, Beyond CEO Ethan Brown confirmed on an earnings call that the Filet would be coming to select retailers as production scaled and it looks like that rollout has now begun.
This is not the same product as the Beyond Steak seared tips. The Filet is a whole cut format made with mycelium, faba bean protein, wheat gluten, and avocado oil, designed to sear and plate like an actual steak. Each filet delivers 28g of protein, zero cholesterol, and 1g of saturated fat at 230 calories and carries Non-GMO Project Verified, Clean Label Project Certified, Glyphosate Residue Free, and Vegan Certified credentials. They suggest to cook in a skillet or flattop only and andvise against air fryer, microwave, and basting preparation methods.
Beyond has confirmed the rollout is limited to select markets for now. Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Kroger stores could be next stops based on Beyond’s existing retail relationships but I will update as I learn more.
