Vegan Honee Mustard Dip and Sauce (Sweet, Tangy & Easy!)

If you love the classic sweet and tangy flavor of honey mustard but want to keep things totally vegan, my Vegan Honee Mustard Dip and Sauce is going to be your new favorite! It takes just a few simple ingredients, no blender needed really, and you’ll have a creamy, crave-worthy sauce that’s perfect for dipping, drizzling, or spreading on your favorite plant-based eats.

Whether you call it honey mustard or honee mustard, this dairy-free and egg-free version has all the same nostalgic flavor, without the bees!

Why you’ll love this recipe.

  • ✅ Completely vegan. No honey or eggs here!
  • ⏱️ Takes 5 minutes to make.
  • 🍟 Perfect for dipping fries, nuggets, pretzels, or veggies.
  • 🥪 Doubles as a sandwich spread or salad dressing.

Tips and Variations

  • Try maple syrup instead of agave for a richer flavor.
  • For a spicy version, add a dash of hot sauce or smoked paprika.
  • Make it a dressing by whisking in a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or water to thin it out.

Traditional honey mustard isn’t vegan because honey comes from bees. Agave syrup (or maple syrup) makes the perfect cruelty-free swap while still giving you that signature sweetness. This recipe is proof that you don’t have to compromise on taste to stay vegan!

Notes

  • My preferred vegan mayo is original veganaise from Follow Your Heart brand but use your favorite.
  • Use a yellow mustard like French’s or your favorite and you can use a smooth or grainy Dijon mustard.
  • Agave is my preferred sweetener but you could use maple syrup or a vegan honee substitute if you have one for even more authentic flavor.
  • Store leftover honee mustard sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5–7 days. Because this is a homemade sauce without preservatives, quality is best within the first few days. Always use a clean utensil when serving.

  2. I love this honey mustard. Delicious! How long will it last stored in the refrigerator?

    • So glad you love it! It’s one of my faves too. Stored in an airtight container in the fridge, this should keep well for about 5–7 days. Since it’s a homemade sauce with vegan mayo and no preservatives, I recommend giving it a quick smell and stir before using. Always use a clean spoon so it stays fresh longer. Hope that helps!
