Vegan Copycat Pizza Hut Pickle Pizza

Pizza Hut recently launched a one store only limited time pickle pizza and it looked so good we recreated it but made it totally vegan! Pizza Hut Pickle Pizza starts with a hand tossed crust, sauced with Buttermilk Ranch, and topped with cheese, crispy breaded chicken breast seasoned with a kick of Nashville Hot Seasoning, sliced white onions, and then loaded with spicy dill pickles and a drizzle of Buttermilk Ranch to finish it off. Having recently made my own amazing vegan ranch, we knew this was going to be a winner!

We used impossible nuggets (dipped in a quick Nashville style sauce), Trader Joe’s pizza dough (our favorite go-to quick pizza crust), vegan Field Roast Chao cheese, and then hamburger dill pickles and more ranch.

To really amp up the flavor, we brushed the crust edges with a quick garlic butter. This was one of the best pizzas I ever had and will definitely be making it again!

An amazing copycat recipe for a limited edition Pizza Hut pizza but totally vegan!

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough (see notes)

  • 1/2 cup vegan ranch dressing (see my recipe or use bottled) plus more to drizzle

  • 1/2 white onion (diced)

  • 1 cup vegan cheddar or mozzarella cheese

  • vegan chick’n nuggets or tenders

  • Nashville Hot Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Tabasco or your favorite hot sauce

  • 3 tablespoons agave syrup

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Garlic Butter
  • 1/4 cup vegan butter

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  • Make the Nashville hot sauce. You can either cook your nuggets for a minute in the microwave just to thaw slightly or bake them for a few minutes to start them off then dip in the sauce and set aside.
  • Roll out your pizza dough, add the 1/2 cup ranch and spread evenly, sprinkle the vegan cheese evenly over the top, add the coated chick’n pieces and diced onion and bake for about 15-20 minutes depending on your oven at 450°.
  • Melt the vegan butter and add the garlic powder, whisk to combine then brush the edges of the pizza with it. Add pickles to the cooked pizza and drizzle with more ranch and serve.

Notes

  • We like Trader Joe’s refrigerated pizza dough which we let proof and then roll out but you could use a pre-formed crust or make your own from scratch.
  • My vegan ranch is amazing or use a bottled vegan variety of your choice.
  • We used a cheddar style cheeze but mozzarella would work too or even a combo of both!
  • We use Impossible nuggets but use your favorite vegan brand.

  1. Made this for dinner 2 nights ago and it was so good I’m making it again tonight. I will leave the agave out of the hot sauce this time. I like my Buffalo sauce spicy. My husband liked it the way it was but I’m cooking so my choice. Ha! I also thought it was even better the next day for lunch cold.

  2. So there isn’t any pickles on it?
There aren’t any in the ingredients.

    • Yep, directions say “Add pickles to the cooked pizza and drizzle with more ranch and serve.” You can use whatever pickles you’d like. All photos clearly shows pickles so you’re in control. It’s not getting delivered. lol
