Vegan Chip Butty Sandwich

So if you’ve gotten this far because of curiosity you’re most likely asking what the heck is a chip butty?! Well, simply put, it’s two slices of soft bread slathered with butter with thick cut French fries (or what the British call “chips”) sandwiched in between! I will say mine is a loose interpretation so don’t come here for authenticity.

I’m using Trader Joe’s vegan brioche, some vegan butter and steak fries with a sprinkling of flaky salt but you can add ketchup, HP sauce, vinegar or other condiments! Don’t be shy with the vegan butter as you want it to ooze around the fries.

I am not British but I did live in London for a number of years back in the 90s. It was there that I first heard of this unusual sandwich. I will say it’s not for everyone but it’s carbs on carbs so how bad could that be? I hate to even call this a recipe as it’s more of an assembly process but I will list the step below. Enjoy mates!
