Easy Vegan Hot Fudge Sauce

WHAT. THE. FUDGE! Happy National Hot Fudge Sundae Day! This the easiest, tastiest hot fudge sauce you’ll ever make. Ready in minutes for when you need to treat yourself. Serve over your favorite vegan ice cream and it’s heaven in a bowl. It’s seriously just 3 ingredients and made in the microwave so it’s dangerously convenient.

You can use your favorite vegan chocolate chips. Mine happen to be Trader Joe’s and they’re the best value out there at only $1.99. Then you’ll need an alternative milk. You can really use anything from oat to coconut, but I prefer my ride or die of Silk vanilla soy. Then use an unrefined coconut oil to make it silky smooth with a hint of tropical coconutty goodness.

This hot fudge sauce is perfect on a sundae, but below are some other ways you might enjoy it.

  • As a fondue. Dip berries, bananas, cake or cookies into it.
  • As a base for hot chocolate. Whisk in some warmed alternative milk for the best hot chocolate you’ve ever had.
  • On pancakes or waffles. Make some chocolate chip pancakes and drizzle this sauce on.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegan chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

  • 1/3 cup alternative milk

  • 1 teaspoon unrefined coconut oil

Directions

  • Place all ingredients in a small microwave safe bowl or measuring cup.
  • Microwave in 30 second intervals until completely melted. (All microwaves are different so make sure not to overcook or the chocolate will seize up.)
  • Stir until all chocolate is melted and it’s silky smooth.
  • Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to two weeks.

Notes

  • Make sure to use a milk that has some fat content to it. Don’t use anything too low fat.
  • You can use semisweet or bittersweet chocolate or a combo of both which is what I like to use.
