I don’t know about you, but since Lucky’s Market and Earthfare closed their doors it’s been a little more challenging to get my Abe’s muffin fix. I’m lucky Whole Foods Market carries them near me, but I was super excited to learn that Abe’s would be launching two items at Sprouts Market this September!

Even though I live in Florida, I like to pretend it’s fall even when it’s still 90° outside. I love everything about fall, so I was happy the two flavors Abe’s decided to launch at Sprouts were their apple cider and cranberry orange zest mini muffins!

So what makes Abe’s so special? Well, in addition to being the first and only nationally-branded vegan muffin company, they’re at the forefront of a growing category in grocery retail, the allergy-friendly movement. Diagnosed cases of food allergies are on the rise and most parents know that there are children in most classrooms (if not their own child) who need school-friendly treats.

For some, this may be the first time they’ve been able to try an Abe’s seasonal offering. I love all of their flavors (lemon poppyseed is a fave), but they shine in creating cozy comforting flavors you remember without any dairy, eggs, soy or milk!

So how do they taste? Apple cider is chewy and dense with all the rich flavors of autumn. Just enough spice and a perfect texture. I store my Abe’s muffins in the fridge but I feel they’re best eaten at room temperature. The cranberry orange zest is a winner too. The tang of the zest and cranberries are the perfect foil to the sweet moist muffin. Yum, my mouth is watering now!

Abe’s will begin hitting the Sprouts shelves in the month of September so look for them in the bakery department. The 12 packs retail for $4.99. It’s fall y’all!
